Don’t plant that pepper (yet)

I see many people are wondering whether it’s ok to plant peppers, squash, basil, corn, beans. My short answer is NO. Don’t do it. Be patient. Their time will come in a few weeks. It will be rainy a little bit cooler this week. If you’d like to put your tomatoes in the ground, make sure you monitor evening temperatures and cover them at night if it’s going to be less than fifty degrees. Or, keep them in their pot outside during the day to get sun, rain, and harden off, then pull them inside for a slightly warmer temp at night. Remember, starts are like babies: beautiful, exciting, and slightly tempermental. Warm loving plants like peppers, squash, corn, or beans… just wait until May, please. Let the nurseries keep things cozy for you.
