Transplanting

When transplanting, whether it’s to spread out starts sprouted from seed in the garden or to establish a new plant, make sure to loosen up the soil a bit so the roots can re-establish. My rule of thumb is loosen surrounding soil, then dig a hole thats about twice as big at the plant roots. Roll soil back in gently (don’t press down), make sure plant is stabilized from soil, and water gently so the water can percolate down to the roots versus flood them out.
